Astrophotography Workshop - Connemara Co Galway and Copper Coast in Waterford

Astrophotography Workshop - Connemara Co Galway and Copper Coast in Waterford

€60.00

Location: Maam Cross area of Connemara and its surrounding regions

Update: workshop on 21st of April is taking place on the Copper Coast in Waterford

Learn how to capture the night skies and see the landscape of Ireland in a totally unique way. These workshops will teach you the fundamentals of Astrophotography such as:

  • Focusing to infinity and getting the stars sharp

  • Finding a suitable composition in the dark

  • Shooting foregrounds in the twilight and how this can help enhance the clarity of your image

  • What shutter speed to use, iso and aperture

  • The location of certain stars, constellations and how to use apps like photopills to plan your night/milky way images

With the nature of astrophotography, it is very difficult to plan. Often you just need to take the chance and hope that the weather will be kind to you. Most astrophotography is done around a new moon phase where the light from the moon will not drown out the stars.

In order to facilitate this workshop, I set out a couple of nights where we may possibly be able to shoot astro. If you see a night that suits you, please select it from the dropdown menu when booking. Total cost is 160 for the workshop but I ask for a 60 euro deposit when booking. The remainder can be paid after the workshop. I will make a call roughly 2 days before the workshop is due to begin and a definite final confirmation on the day of the workshop, if it looks like the workshop will not go ahead, you’re deposit will be returned or you can choose anther date
